Mamta Kachwaha
Education:
- LL.B from the Campus Law Centre of University of Delhi in 1980.
- Graduate with distinction. Placed in the Merit List of the Punjab University.
- Advanced Diploma Course in French Language (3 year course) from Punjab University.
Professional Experience:
- Enrolled as an Advocate in the year 1980. Handled several cases concerning issues related to women’s rights under the marriage and property Laws. Handled a batch of about 200 cases in the High Court of Delhi on behalf of specially abled persons, challenging restrictions on the import of cars for the specially abled.
- Human Rights Commission – worked as a Consultant and handled complaints to the National Human Rights Commission.
Publications :
- March 1996 – was awarded a writing assignment by the Faculty of Social Science, Leiden University, Holland, to research and write on the quality and development of the Legal System in India. This book was published in 1999 jointly by the Centre for Independence of Judges and Lawyers (CIJL) – Geneva; and the Research Programme on Root Causes of Human Rights Violations (PIOOM) Netherland.
